EDIT again: Kinda late, but since I feel like its missing, battle styles have been added as the tourney progresses and the characters have been developed more.

When I found out this tournament exists, I literally dropped everything and worked on this instead. I've never been so FIRED UP for a long time...it felt kinda nice actually.

Why? Because its POKEMON!! Dx
(I was also lucky, because this week some of my classes were cancelled. ;3; !!)

Name: Kay Elreen
Trainer Class: Pyromanic
Age: 17
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 118 lbs
Hair: Brownish Black
Eyes: Brown w/orange
Hometown: Ecruteak City

Personality: Prone to extreme mood swings, as shown above, Kay is very emotional and can get excited very easily. However she is bonded really close and cares for her Pokemon, and they in exchange, are emotionally connected with her (with the exception of the Houndour).

Background: Born city-girl Kay, being very adventurous, likes traveling to many places, and is always on the scour for money. (Because she keeps spending it on supplies and pokemon items) Kay isn't one to reject battles, however she always puts her pokemon first, and would step in to protect any of them. In fact she would probably be right there next to them reassuring them with pats.

Battle style: Has a tendency to be rash, reckless, and impulsive. Likes using brute force to end battles quicker, however she has no qualms about good tight battles. Dislikes stalling or barely any progression on both sides of battling. There is also an emphasis on speed during her battles, since it closely links with hitting them fast and hard. Recently Kay thinks she should emphasize on accuracy as well. At times when Kay IS prudent and heedful, her quick thinking has gotten her out of sticky situations pretty well.

Her favorite types are Fire and Thunder.

Extra: In the midst of battles, walks, contests, other daily activities, Kay is also looking for a person on the side. However as the days roll by, Kay is dismayed to find that she can't even remember his face anymore nor the relation he had in her life.

Friend? Relative? Neighbor? Distant cousin? She doesn't remember, however she assumes it is probably the last one. On bad days, sometimes she wonders if he was just an imagination, however the Houndour (see below) proves that he still exists.

Kay believes his name to be Kenneth, but she isn't sure either.

Nickname: Eri
Gender: Female
Ability: Static
Moveset: 1) Thunderbolt 2) Fire Punch 3) Iron tail 4) Light screen
Personality: Modest
Battle style: Always aims to push forward, the optimistic one. Eri is a good sport about fighting, especially because she's so eager to get stronger.
Background: Still currently the youngest (level-wise) in Kay's team, but is however very blissful about her achievement in evolving. Kay also expresses her feelings of excitement to this pokemon.

Ninetales
Nickname: Blaze
Gender: Male
Ability: Flash Fire
Moveset: 1) Flamethrower 2) Toxic 3) Dig 4) Overheat
Personality: Calm
Battle style: Mainly cool, collected, and eerily silent when battling. When riled up, Blaze's eyes turn redder, and his raised fur would have a hard time flattening again. Blaze happens to be currently the strongest on the team. An effective special attack fighter.
Background: Kay's first pokemon, which she received as a Vulpix, and in which he has bonded with Kay greatly, being through so much together. She spent all her savings on a fire stone, which left her dirt poor, even if it was worth it. Kay expresses her true real self to only this pokemon, along with all sorts of sorrow, because his calm nature is able to reassure her again.

Houndour
Nickname: Sleek
Gender: Male
Ability: Flash Fire
Moveset: 1) Ember 2) Bite 3) Shadowball 4) Frustration
Personality: Lonely
Battle style: Acts as if he were bigger than he is, and bombards those he deems unworthy with insults. Including Kay herself. Kay is reluctant to use Sleek in battle.
Background: This Houndour actually originally does NOT belong to Kay. In fact this Houndour belongs to her distant cousin, in which Kay assumed her cousin accidentally left behind when he "disappeared". However when her cousin "disappeared" her Arcanine was also gone. She assumed that her cousin had accidentally traded/took her Arcanine.

Kay expresses her feelings of pleading to this pokemon, because although the Houndour "sorta" listens to her, he dislikes this "asian-look-alike" trainer who isn't as cool as his original. In fact he hates her.

Raichu
Nickname: Speed
Gender: Male
Ability: Static
Moveset: 1) Thunderbolt 2) Focus Punch 3) Surf 4) Hyperbeam
Personality: Naughty
Battle style: Has an emphasis on "speed" as his name suggests. However he is as cunning and sly as he is playfully mischievous. Doesn't hesitate when such an opportunity arises either.
Background: One of Kay's earlier pokemon. She first got him as a Pichu, and as a Pikachu, learned surf. Kay and Speed relate to each other as they exchange their humor and participate in "safe" mischief. Basically they're kinda bad influences to each other.

Skarmory
Nickname: Strafe
Gender: Male
Ability: Keen eye
Moveset: 1) Steel Wing 2) Swift 3) Agility 4) Air cutter
Personality: Impish
Battle style: Like all skarmorys, Strafe has a very large defense to get past. (where ironically, its two main weaknesses are Kay's favorite types to use) Nevertheless, Strafe has moves which Kay has a tendency to rely too much on, especially with Strafe's emphasis on accuracy. Aka "swift".
Background: Kay took EXTREME measures in order to travel and to catch this ambitious goal of hers, because it kept flying away. After a few good tumbles, falls, and burns she finally captured this pokemon. Strafe is one of the newer members on the team.

Spinda
Nickname: Ruby
Gender: Female
Ability: Own Tempo
Moveset: 1) Teeter Dance 2) Rollout 3) Seismic Toss 4) Water Pulse
Personality: Sassy
Battle style: A cheeky sort of fella, but her peculiar ways have a touch of "appealment" to them. Fights kinda like a drunken fist fighter, as all Spindas would behave, except not drunk.
Background: Traded for Kay's Corsola during Round Four.
Extras: For reference, Ruby has two spots over her eyes, one on the tip of her left ear, and one on the right side of her forehead.

Nickname: Cory
Gender: Female
Ability: Hustle
Moveset: 1) Icebeam 2) Earthquake 3) Surf 4) Recover
Personality: Bold
Battle style: A brave warrior who isn't afraid of her opponent, no matter how large or frightening. In fact she has a tough outer determination that may relate to her huge attack stats. Like Eri, she is optimistic and pushes forward. Another effective special attack fighter.
Background: Kay caught this pokemon with the help of her cousin. It is probably the last "togetherness" memory that she has of her cousin. Kay enjoys relaxing and watching water reflections of the sunset with this pokemon.

Arcanine - Accidentally traded/taken away and was replaced by Kenneth's Houndour (above) before the start of the tourney
Nickname: Amber
Gender: Female
Ability: Flash Fire
Moveset: 1) Flamethrower 2) Extreme Speed 3) Dragon Pulse 4) Heat Wave
Personality: Adamant
Battle style: Emphasis on both speed and attack. Speed first to daze out her opponents, then knocked them quick with huge bursts of power. A huge pity she is "supposedly" traveling with Kenneth.
Background: Kay's second pokemon after Blaze the Ninetales. Kay saved her from the doorstep of death when she was still a Growlithe back then, famished from the lack of a mother, and lost in the city. (The mother herself, no one knew her whereabouts). Bonded with Kay and Blaze strongly. The three of them would romp in little games. Evolved from a fire stone during the same time Blaze was evolved.
